QWO's third concert for 2006, "Let's Dance" featured major works for band including Adam Gorb's Yiddish Dances and Satiric Dances by renowned composer Norman Dello Joio. Guests were swept to the Emerald Isle by the music from Bill Whelan's Riverdance and taken back to one of the world's greatest musicals with Ian Polster's arrangement of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. The Australian premiere of Vientos y Tangos by Michael Gandolfi was the feature work of the concert. What QWO concert would be complete without a march to clap along with at the end, and this time, what a march! Philip Sparke's The Bandwagon rounded off the afternoon, followed by a very pleasant afternoon tea on the balcony overlooking the river. QWO are very proud to have had Mr Phillip Davis as their guest conductor for this concert and look forward to working with him again in the future.
