Sunday Jazz at the Schonell |

20 November saw the final QWO performance of 2005, "All That
Jazz" at the University of Queensland's Schonell Theatre.
The sizeable audience thoroughly enjoyed the programme - plenty of toes
were tapping to the classic tunes of George Gershwin and Louis
Armstrong! Presenting more of a challenge to the ensemble but still
superbly performed were the contemporary works "Slava!" by Leonard
Bernstein, "Blue Shades" by Frank Ticheli and "Distorted Images: A
Jazzman's Nightmare" by Andrew Boysen Jr. Many of the pieces
featured QWO members as soloists, including Amy Walduck on alto
saxophone, Tim Jauncey on clarinet and Cade Bonar and Melissa Hickey on
trumpet.
